BLS Healthcare Provider Course

Course Description:
The BLS Healthcare Provider Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for certified or non-certified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare professionals, including lifeguards.

Course Description:
The Heartsaver CPR/AED Course teaches CPR; AED use; relief of choking in adults, children, and infant CPR; relief of choking; and use of barrier devices for all ages.

Disaster First Aid (DFA) Course

Course Description:
This course covers the injuries and conditions expected to occur in large numbers in a severe medical emergency such as major earthquake, terrorist attack, massive explosion, or structure collapse. This Disaster First Aid (DFA) course focuses on the critical first-actions necessary to save lives and prevent the worsening of injury in the first minutes and hours – a time when the most lives are either saved or lost. The information and actions in this course follow the standard practices and protocols of California Public Safety agencies such as Police, Fire, and Paramedic, and are adapted to citizens’ level of ability and resources.

When athletes become ill or injured, coaches and athletic trainers need to know how to respond. Sports First Aid and Injury Prevention teaches coaches and trainers how to administer basic first aid to sick and injured athletes and addresses ways to prevent illnesses and injuries from occurring.

Wilderness First Aid Course

Course Description:
Provides information on how to handle common injuries and illnesses when medical care is at least an hour away. Designed for those who work or travel in remote locations, this comprehensive course will teach participants how to handle an emergency and direct them to the most appropriate type of care. Wilderness First Aid addresses information on first aid training and complies with current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency cardiovascular care (ECC) guidelines.
