Since July 2001, Century Health Systems (CHSI) has provided a wide variety of health education and wellness promotion programs to MetroWest and beyond. Our experienced staff, which includes Registered Nurses, Registered Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapists and Health Educators, has prepared curricula and teaches courses to meet the needs of all age groups – from pre-school to seniors. Many of these programs meet the standards developed by nationally-recognized organizations and educational institutions, including the American Heart Association, National Safety Council, and Vanderbilt University, to name a few.
In addition, CHSI has contracted with Boards of Health of local municipalities to provide follow-up on reported communicable diseases, assistance with town-sponsored flu immunization clinics and wellness programs, and other health promotion activities as needed. Our public health nurses are available to work with area residents dealing with a variety of health concerns, including Lyme disease treatment and prevention, food-borne illness and flu prevention.
CHSI also has arrangements with scores of area family and center-provided children’s day care programs, offering nursing services related to the health and safety of pre-school aged children. Our Registered Nurse in charge of this program has more than 25 years of experience in nursing and has been recognized by the Day Care Industry as an expert in her field. She has assisted day care providers in developing health and safety policies and procedures; she provides educational sessions to staff and parents of area day care centers; and she helps with day-to-day health and safety concerns at day care centers as they arise.
The CHSI health promotion and wellness program staff responds creatively and in a timely manner to requests from area businesses, local community and civic organizations, and other groups – for the latest and most current health promotion information.
